Fuel injection equipment test bench (fuel pumps, injectors)
Bench for checking and adjusting high-pressure fuel pumps and injectors of locomotive diesel engines for delivery, delivery uniformity and injection pressure.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The bench is designed for post-repair checking and adjustment of high-pressure fuel pumps and injectors of locomotive diesel engines. It determines the delivery per cycle of the pumping element, delivery uniformity, start-of-delivery angle, tightness of the plunger-and-barrel assembly and delivery valve, as well as the injector opening pressure, spray quality and injector tightness.
The pump under test is mounted on the bench plate through an adapter and coupled to the drive shaft. A variable-frequency drive sets the required camshaft speed, an electronic counter measures off the set number of cycles, and fuel delivery per cycle is measured with graduated cylinders or, in the extended configuration, with electronic flow meters. Injectors are checked at a separate station with a hand pump and high-pressure gauge; the spray is observed in a transparent chamber with lighting and fume extraction.
The bench consists of a base frame with a work plate, a drive module, a fuel tank with filtration and thermostatic control, a measuring unit and a control panel. The set of adapters and cam drives is made for the pumps of specific engine series; on request the bench is supplied with software for keeping a database of adjustment results for each pump and printing reports.
Features
Design features
- Pumps and injectors on one bench — The injector test station is built into the base frame, so the complete fuel equipment set of one engine can be checked at a single workplace.
- Variable-frequency drive — Speed is set smoothly across the entire range and held stable regardless of the load from the pump.
- Thermostatic fuel control — The test fluid temperature is kept within the set range, ensuring comparable measurement results.
- Electronic cycle counter — The number of plunger strokes is set from the panel, and the drive stops automatically when the set count is reached.
- Adapters for the engine series — Adapter plates and cams are made for the customer's engine pumps and changed without tools.
