Wheel-motor unit repair station
Integrated station for disassembly, assembly and running-in of electric locomotive wheel-motor units with a lifting table, motor tilter and running-in bench.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The repair station organizes the full cycle of work on an electric locomotive wheel-motor unit after it is rolled out of the bogie: separating the unit into the wheelset and traction motor, replacing the axle suspension bearings and gear cases, reassembly and subsequent running-in. All operations are carried out in one area, which eliminates crane transfers of heavy assemblies between sections and shortens the time the unit spends in repair.
The core of the station is a lifting-and-rotating table onto which the unit is fed along a rail track. The table raises the unit to working height and turns it about a vertical axis, opening access from both sides. Once the gear cases and axle suspension bearing caps are removed, the motor is taken onto the station's support arms and the table lowers the wheelset onto the rails — separation takes place without a crane or impact loads. The motor is then transferred to the tilter for repair of the suspension and axle suspension bearing seats. After assembly the unit is rolled onto the running-in bench, where the wheelset is driven by its own motor in both directions while bearing temperatures and gear noise are monitored.
The station configuration is selected to suit the repair program: from a stand-alone lifting table to a complete line with a motor tilter, running-in bench, wheelset storage rack and hydraulic power unit. Control is concentrated on a single panel, and the running-in bench records parameters and prints a test report.
Features
Design features
- Full cycle at one station — disassembly, assembly and running-in are carried out without moving assemblies between sections by crane
- Lifting-and-rotating table — the unit is raised to working height and turned for access from both sides
- Crane-free separation — the motor support arms and lifting table separate the wheelset and motor without slinging or impact loads
- Monitored running-in — rotation in both directions with measurement of bearing temperature and gear vibration and noise
- Modular configuration — the station is expanded as the repair program grows without replacing the base equipment
