Freight car bogie disassembly and assembly station
Hydraulic station for disassembling and assembling two-axle three-piece freight car bogies that lifts the bolster and side frames without any crane operations.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The station is designed for breaking down freight car bogies into their components before inspection and repair, and for reassembling them afterwards. It performs bolster lifting and holding, removal of spring sets and friction wedges, lifting of the side frames off the axle boxes, side frame spreading and wheelset roll-out. The equipment is built for two-axle three-piece bogies and is installed in the bogie section of a car repair depot.
The bogie is rolled onto the station along the rail track and locked by stops. A hydraulic lifter with a cross beam raises the bolster and holds it at the set height, after which the spring sets are removed by hand or with a puller. The side frames are raised off the axle boxes by lifting grips and spread apart by hydraulic cylinders, sliding off the bolster ends; the wheelsets are then rolled out onto the transport system. Assembly follows the reverse sequence, with the side frames centered over the axle boxes of the wheelsets.
The station consists of a welded base frame with rail track, a bolster lifter, side frame lifting and spreading grips, a hydraulic power unit and a control panel. All hydraulic cylinders are fitted with pilot-operated check valves, and the lifter has a mechanical lock that prevents the bolster from lowering if pressure is lost. On request the station is supplemented with a side frame tilter, a spring puller and a parts storage rack.
Features
Design features
- Complete disassembly cycle — bolster lifting, spring and wedge removal, side frame lifting and spreading are performed at one station without crane operations
- Hydraulic drive — a 5.5 kW power unit provides smooth lifting and holding of the bolster; check valves lock the cylinders if power is lost
- Mechanical lock — the bolster is locked mechanically at the set height, allowing work beneath it without time limits
- Centering during assembly — the spreading mechanism aligns the side frames with the axle boxes of the wheelsets, speeding up seating of the frames onto the boxes
- Fits into the flow line — the station's rail track connects to the bogie storage track and the wheelset transport system
