Multi-level service platform for high-speed trainsets

A stationary platform along the repair station with car-floor and roof levels, retractable gangways to the car and an interlock that blocks roof access while the catenary is live.

Equipment

Description

The platform gives depot staff simultaneous access to high-speed train equipment on several levels: underfloor units from shop-floor level and the inspection pit, doors, windows and side hatches from car-floor level, and pantographs, high-voltage equipment, air-conditioning units and brake resistors from roof level. It is installed along the repair station over the full length of the trainset, on one or both sides of the track.

The load-bearing frame is assembled from steel sections placed on the shop floor, with a support pitch coordinated with the pit and the building columns. The car-floor level is fitted with retractable gangways that bridge the gap to the car side wall and are withdrawn before the train is moved. The upper level is built at roof height with expanded-metal decking, continuous guard rails and stairs with landings every two to three sections. All levels are provided with lighting, 220 and 380 V outlets, compressed-air connection points and a data network.

Access to the roof level is through gates with electromagnetic locks interlocked with the catenary disconnector and earthing switch above the station: the gates open only after the voltage has been removed and earthing applied, and voltage cannot be restored while any gate is open. On request the platform is supplemented with movable roof-level bridges across the track, single-girder overhead cranes with a capacity of up to 1000 kg for replacing pantographs and air-conditioning units, as well as tool racks and lifting tables at car-floor level.

Features

Design features

  • Three access levels — Shop-floor level with the pit, car-floor level and roof level are serviced at the same time, with no ladders or scaffolding to move around.
  • Retractable gangways — The gangways bridge the gap to the car side wall at car-floor level and lock in the withdrawn position before the train moves.
  • Roof level interlock — The gates open only after the catenary has been de-energized and earthed; voltage cannot be restored while a gate is open.
  • Utilities on every level — Lighting, 220 and 380 V outlets, compressed air and a data network are distributed along the full length of the platform.
  • Sectional design — The platform is assembled from standard 6 m sections, so it can be extended or relocated when the depot is reconstructed.
  • Matched to the customer's loading gauge — Level heights, gangway reach and the distance to the track centreline are set from the loading gauge of the train series maintained at the depot.
