Lifting system for mining dump trucks
A set of mobile hydraulic columns with 45 t capacity each for synchronized lifting of mining dump trucks by the frame, axles or wheels when replacing tires, suspension components and motor-wheels.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The lifting system is used in repair bays and on open-air service pads to lift mining dump trucks with payloads from 90 to 240 t for tire and wheel replacement and for suspension, brake and motor-wheel repair. Unlike fixed jacks and lifts, a set of mobile columns needs no foundation and is moved to the machine rather than the machine to the station.
Each column is a steel post with a hydraulic cylinder, its own power unit and a carriage that carries the lifting adapter. In the basic version the carriage takes support beams with adjustable heads that engage the designated jacking points on the frame and axle housing, leaving the wheels free for removal. For jobs that do not require wheel removal, tire fork adapters adjustable to the tire diameter are supplied. A wheeled chassis with hydraulically raised support feet allows one operator to roll the column across a level concrete surface, and a towing bracket is provided for open-air pads.
The columns are combined into a set of four to eight units controlled from a common panel: the controller compares carriage positions from stroke sensors and equalizes the speed of each column, keeping the machine level. Mechanical locks engage the carriage every 50 mm of stroke, so the load is taken off the hydraulics while work is carried out under the machine. At the customer's request the columns are supplied with battery power and a radio link between the panel and the columns.
Features
Design features
- No foundation or fixed station — the columns are rolled across the pad to the machine and require no base preparation other than a level concrete surface
- Synchronized lifting — the controller keeps the stroke difference between columns within 5 mm during lifting and lowering
- Mechanical locking — locks at 50 mm pitch take the load while work is carried out under the machine, and the hydraulics are unloaded
- Lifting by frame or tire — support beams with heads engage the jacking points on the frame and axles, leaving the wheels free for removal; tire forks for diameters from 1800 to 4000 mm are used for jobs without wheel removal
- Expandable set — additional units are added to the basic set of four columns for dump trucks of a larger class
