Passenger car bogie repair stand

The stand is designed for disassembly and assembly of passenger car bogies with central swing-hanger suspension during depot repair and overhaul. It is used to roll out wheelsets and to remove and install the bolster, swing hanger, spring sets, hydraulic dampers and brake rigging without calling the overhead crane for every operation.

The bogie is rolled onto the stand along a rail track. The bogie frame is raised by four synchronized hydraulic cylinders and locked on mechanical stops, after which the wheelsets are rolled out onto a transfer trolley. The bolster and swing hanger rest on hydraulically extended cradles, so the springs are unloaded gradually and the assemblies come off without skewing. All movements are controlled from a portable pendant; lifting and lowering are interlocked until the stops are in the working position.

The base of the stand is a welded frame with rails, anchored to the foundation. Four lifting columns, two bolster cradles and swivel grips for the swing-hanger links are mounted on the frame. The hydraulic power unit with directional valves and load-holding valves is housed in a separate cabinet. The delivery includes a wheelset transfer trolley, a center-pin puller and a set of interchangeable supports for bogies of different series.

On request the stand is fitted with a nut runner on an overhead carriage, a fixture for mounting brake cylinders and guarded service platforms. For bogies of disc-braked cars we supply cradles for installing brake units.
