Tram traction motor repair stand
Takes a traction motor of up to 1200 kg, rotates it about a horizontal axis and raises it to a convenient height for disassembly, assembly and bearing replacement.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The stand is designed for disassembly, assembly and repair of DC and asynchronous tram traction motors in the electrical machine shop of a depot. The motor is placed by crane on the rotating faceplate, secured by its feet or flange and then serviced without further lifting operations: the fitter turns it to the required position and sets the axis height to suit their stature and the job at hand.
The stand has a welded base with electro-hydraulic carriage lifting and electromechanical faceplate rotation through a worm gearbox. The faceplate accepts adapter plates for motors of different types; rotation is operated from a push-button station or a foot pedal so that both hands stay free. On the free shaft end side there is a mounting for a hydraulic puller that removes bearing end shields, pinions and inner bearing rings without impact loads.
The stand is supplied with a basic set of adapter plates for the motors in the customer's fleet. Options include a 100 kN puller with a manual or electric pump unit, an induction heater for fitting bearings, a set of fixtures for withdrawing the armature or rotor, and a no-load test station monitoring current, vibration and bearing housing temperature.
Features
Design features
- 360° rotation — The motor rotates about a horizontal axis with locking every 30°; the commutator, brush gear and bearing end shields are brought to a convenient working position.
- Axis height adjustment — The electro-hydraulic carriage raises the motor within 700–1300 mm above the floor; heavy operations are performed without bending down to the floor.
- Hydraulic puller — Removes bearing end shields and pinions with up to 100 kN along the shaft axis; rings and seats are not damaged.
- Adapter plates — Mounting by feet or flange for DC and asynchronous motors of different series; changing a plate takes a few minutes.
- Pedal control — The rotation and lifting pedal leaves both hands free when aligning parts and tightening fasteners.
- Test station — The optional station runs the assembled motor at no load and checks current, vibration and bearing heating before installation on the bogie.
