Equipment

Description

The booth is used in the maintenance and repair of metro car electrical equipment — traction motors, motor-compressors, apparatus boxes, contactor panels and control units. Assemblies are cleaned of conductive dust, brush wear products and graphite dust with compressed air inside an enclosed chamber, which prevents contamination from spreading around the shop and reduces dust levels at workplaces.

The chamber is made of steel panels with glazed viewing windows and double-leaf doors for rolling in the assembly. Inside there is a turntable on a roller support that allows the motor to be turned towards the operator without a crane. Blowing is done with hand guns through glove ports or, in the open-front version, by an operator standing at the open front under the protection of the extraction system. Dust-laden air is drawn off by a fan through a pre-cleaning cyclone and a fine cartridge filter; the collected dust is discharged into a sealed container.

Depending on the task, the booth is supplied with a ramp and rail track for rolling in a motorized wheelset, a built-in compressed air dryer, an ionizer for removing static charge and an automatic filter regeneration system with pulse-jet cleaning. Chamber dimensions are calculated for the largest assembly in the depot's range.

Features

Design features

  • Enclosed cleaning circuit — Dust is contained inside the chamber and settles in the container rather than on equipment and in shop aisles.
  • Two-stage filtration — The cyclone captures the coarse fraction, and the cartridge filter retains fine graphite dust before the air is released into the shop.
  • Turntable — A motor weighing up to 2 t is turned by hand for access to the commutator and ventilation openings from both sides.
  • Conditioned air — A water and oil separator at the inlet keeps condensate and oil out of the windings during blowing.
  • Filter self-cleaning — Pulse-jet reverse cleaning of the cartridges by timer or by pressure differential maintains stable extraction airflow.
