Traction gearbox repair stand
A turnover stand with a rotating faceplate and interchangeable adapter plates for disassembly, inspection and assembly of traction gearboxes from EMU motor bogies.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The stand is used in the wheel and gearbox section of a depot for repairing traction gearboxes of multiple unit rolling stock. The gearbox removed from the wheelset is secured on the stand faceplate, after which the fitter has access to the housing split line, bearing units, seals and gear wheels from any side, without turning the assembly over with a crane or holding it by hand.
The gearbox is attached to the faceplate through an adapter plate that replicates the standard mounting holes of the housing; a plate change takes a few minutes, so one stand serves several train series. The faceplate is rotated by an electromechanical drive with a worm gearbox that holds the assembly in any position during a power failure, and a stop locks the faceplate every 15°. The column with the faceplate is mounted on a welded frame with a tray for collecting oil and flushing fluid.
On request the stand is supplemented with a run-in drive with smooth speed control, bearing temperature sensors and vibration monitoring, which allows the assembled gearbox to be checked before it is fitted to the wheelset. The scope may also include a hydraulic bearing puller, a set of plates for the gearbox series specified by the customer, a lifting beam for placing the assembly on the stand and local lighting of the work area.
Features
Design features
- 360° rotation — The electromechanical drive rotates the gearbox in both directions; a stop locks the faceplate every 15°.
- Interchangeable adapter plates — The plates replicate the mounting holes of housings from different series; changing the stand over to another gearbox takes a few minutes.
- Self-locking drive — The worm gear holds the assembly in any position, including during a power failure.
- Post-assembly run-in — An optional variable-speed drive with bearing temperature and vibration monitoring before fitting to the wheelset.
- Oil collection — The tray under the faceplate collects residual oil and flushing fluid during disassembly and draining.
