Hydraulic press for pressing parts in and out
A frame-type hydraulic press rated up to 100 t with a travelling cylinder and an adjustable table for assembling and dismantling press-fit joints of rolling stock assemblies.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The press is used in the repair of bogies, traction motors, couplers and brake rigging, wherever parts are joined with an interference fit: bushings in frame and lever bores, inner bearing rings on shafts, pins, gears and coupling halves. The same machine both dismantles a worn joint and assembles a new one, so the press is usually placed in the assembly repair area next to the washing machine and the inspection table.
The press is built around a welded portal frame with two columns and an upper crossbeam along which the hydraulic cylinder travels sideways. The table rests on cross-bars set into a row of holes in the columns and is repositioned in height, so the daylight under the ram is matched to the height of the part. The hydraulic power unit provides two speeds: rapid approach of the ram to the part and slow working stroke under load. The force is set on the control panel; a pressure sensor displays it on a digital readout and stops the stroke when the limit is reached.
Control is two-handed from a push-button panel, with a foot pedal provided for long operations. The press is available in 40, 63 and 100 t versions; the delivery includes support V-blocks, a set of mandrels and spacer rings for the customer's assemblies. On request the press is fitted with a force–displacement recording system to document the press-fit, a roller pull-out table for heavy parts and a guard around the working area with an interlock.
Features
Design features
- Travelling cylinder — The cylinder moves along the crossbeam, so the ram axis is aligned with the bore of the part without repositioning a heavy assembly on the table.
- Repositionable table — The table is moved in height on the cross-bars and the daylight under the ram reaches 1000 mm — frames, levers and housings fit on the press whole.
- Two stroke speeds — Rapid approach cuts non-productive time, while the working stroke is smooth, which matters when seating bearings and bronze bushings.
- Force monitoring — A pressure sensor shows the force on the readout; the operator sets the limit value and the stroke stops automatically when it is reached.
- Tooling for the customer's assemblies — Mandrels, V-blocks and spacer rings are made from the drawings of the parts that pass through the shop; the set is extended when the fleet changes.
- Safety — Two-hand control, a hydraulic relief valve and an interlocked guard rule out ram movement while hands are in the working area.
