Hydraulic transmission repair and test bench
Runs in and tests the hydromechanical transmissions of rail tractors, motor trolleys and track machines under load, measuring torque, pressure and oil temperature.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The bench is designed for post-repair running-in and acceptance testing of the hydromechanical transmissions fitted to rail tractors, motor trolleys, maintenance railcars and track machines. During testing it monitors the oil pressure in the torque converter and clutch circuits, the positive engagement of the gear stages and reverse, the torque at the output shaft, temperature and leakage, as well as noise and vibration at characteristic points.
The transmission under test is placed on a mounting trolley, where repair operations are carried out, and moved along the guides to the test station. The input shaft is coupled to a variable-frequency drive motor and the output shaft to a hydraulic brake that generates load across the required range. Torque sensors on both shafts allow the transmission efficiency to be calculated at every operating point.
The bench comprises a bed with guides, a mounting trolley, a drive unit, a loading device with a water cooling system, an oil system with filtration and a cooler, and an operator console with a controller. Run-in programs are defined per transmission type and executed automatically with all parameters recorded; an acoustic enclosure, additional adapter flanges and vibration measurement are offered as options.
Features
Design features
- Testing under load — the hydraulic brake reproduces real load at the output shaft rather than a no-load run-in alone
- Efficiency measurement — torque sensors at the input and output give a direct comparison of power at every operating point
- Automatic run-in programs — the cycles for each transmission type are executed by the controller without operator involvement
- Repair and test without re-handling — the mounting trolley removes the need to move the transmission between workstations by crane
- Oil monitoring — oil temperature, pressure and contamination are tracked throughout the cycle, and the bench stops on any deviation
- Adapter flanges for each series — a set of adapters allows transmissions of different types to be tested on one bed
