Track machine assembly tilter
A two-column tilter rotates gearboxes, tamping unit frames and other heavy assemblies through 360° for disassembly, welding and assembly.

Description
The tilter is used for the disassembly, repair and assembly of large assemblies of special self-propelled rolling stock: axle gearboxes, transfer cases, tamping and consolidating unit frames, slewing columns of loader cranes and welded bogie frames. The assembly is clamped between two faceplates and turned to the position most convenient for the fitter or welder, which eliminates working from underneath and turning the assembly over with a crane.
Rotation is provided by an electromechanical drive on the headstock faceplate through a self-locking worm gearbox — the assembly stops in any position and is held there without additional locking. The tailstock travels along the guides of the base and is locked to suit the length of the assembly; both faceplates have T-slots for interchangeable clamps and adapter brackets.
Control is from a pendant with rotation buttons for both directions and an emergency stop; the rotation speed is adjusted steplessly. The standard supply includes a set of clamping elements and an oil collection tray; on request the tilter is fitted with hydraulic height adjustment of the rotation axis, a welding turntable and a guard around the working area.

- Self-locking drive — the worm gear holds an unbalanced assembly when stopped and during a power failure
- Adjustable base — the movable tailstock is set for assemblies from 1.5 to 4.5 m long
- Interchangeable tooling — T-slot faceplates accept clamps and brackets for gearboxes and frames of different machine series
- Soft start and stop — variable-frequency control eliminates jerks when a heavy assembly starts to move and protects the clamping
