Air supply columns and yard compressed-air network
Compressed-air mains along the tracks and columns with coupling heads and hose reels that deliver air to any car in the yard.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The yard compressed-air network carries air from the compressor station to every working point: brake testing units, car brake hoses, car inspectors' pneumatic tools and pneumatically driven devices. Columns are spaced along the tracks so that the standard hose reaches any car of the train without moving equipment.
The main is made of steel pipe with an anti-corrosion coating and is laid in trays between the tracks or on low supports; automatic condensate drains are installed at the low points, and sectioning valves allow a section to be isolated for repair without shutting down the whole yard. A column is a steel post with a shut-off valve, a filter and moisture separator and one or two outlets with brake-type coupling heads; in the cold-climate version the post is insulated and fitted with valve heating.
The network is designed for simultaneous charging of several trains with a limited pressure drop at the end of the main. INVIN GROUP performs the pipe sizing, supplies pipes, valves, columns, hose reels and fasteners as a complete kit, installs the network at the customer's site and carries out pneumatic testing. On request the columns are supplemented with 24 V power points, lighting and track number indicators.
Features
Design features
- Air at every car — Column spacing of 25–40 m and hoses of 15–20 m allow connection to any car of the train without moving equipment.
- Sectioned network — Valves on sections of the main isolate a damaged or repaired stretch while the rest of the yard keeps working.
- Condensate drainage — Automatic condensate drains at the low points and moisture separators in the columns keep water out of hoses and brake equipment.
- Winter version — Insulated posts with valve heating keep the columns operational in icing and frost.
- Complete supply — Sizing, pipes, valves, columns and fasteners are delivered as one kit with route drawings.
