Modular compressor station for train yards
Containerized compressor station with screw compressors, air drying and automatic control supplying the yard compressed-air network and brake testing units.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The compressor station supplies compressed air to the yard network: brake testing units, air supply columns, pneumatic tools at the car maintenance point and pneumatically driven securing devices. It is rated for continuous operation under varying load — from standby consumption to simultaneous charging of several long trains.
The equipment is housed in an insulated, factory-assembled container: two or three screw compressors, one of them on standby, air receivers, a refrigerated or adsorption dryer, filtration stages and a condensate collection and treatment system. The station controller starts compressors according to actual demand, rotates their running hours, keeps an event log and transmits the station status to the yard duty officer's post or the depot network.
The container is fitted with lighting, heating, supply and exhaust ventilation with automatic louvres and acoustic insulation, so the station is installed on an open site next to the yard without constructing a building. Connection is limited to bringing in the power supply and tying into the main. The number and rating of compressors, receiver volume and drying class are selected to the customer's specification, and a heat recovery system can be added to heat the yard's premises.
Features
Design features
- Compressor redundancy — One compressor is kept on hot standby, so the station maintains its design capacity during servicing or failure of any machine.
- Demand-based control — The controller starts and stops compressors according to receiver pressure and rotates the lead machine to equalize running hours.
- Dry, clean air — A dryer — refrigerated, or adsorption for winter operation — and two-stage filtration keep condensate, ice and oil out of the main and the cars' brake equipment.
- Factory-assembled — The station arrives on site assembled and tested; installation is limited to the foundation, power supply and tie-in to the main.
- Remote monitoring — Pressure, temperature, running hours and alarm events are transmitted to the yard duty officer and the depot network.
