Locomotive repair station with lifting system
A stationary installation that lifts the locomotive body and holds it on stands for the duration of running gear repair, complete with service platforms and utility distribution.
We will send photos and drawings of the equipment on request via the contacts page.
Equipment
Description
The repair station is designed to separate the locomotive body from its bogies during running and intermediate repair. The locomotive enters the station under its own power or is brought in by a shunting vehicle, the body is raised by the stationary lifting system and set down on support stands, after which the bogies are rolled out for repair and all the underframe equipment becomes accessible.
The lifting system consists of four or eight stationary electromechanical columns sunk into the foundation along the edges of the station. The columns run from a common control cabinet: the controller compares the position of each column using sensors and adjusts drive speed so that body tilt stays within the set limit. A self-locking screw drive holds the load if power is lost. Once raised, the body is transferred to height-adjustable support stands and the columns are lowered to their home position, so the drives do not remain under load for the duration of the repair.
The station includes an inspection pit with lighting and recesses for utilities, side service platforms at body floor level, distribution of compressed air, 380/220 V power and earthing, as well as guard rails and safety gates. At the customer's request the station is supplemented with a bogie roll-out unit, relocatable support stands for sections of different lengths, lifting platforms for coupler work and a load monitoring system on each column.
Features
Design features
- Stationary design — The columns are set into the foundation along the station edges and do not occupy shop aisles; the station floor is kept clear of mobile equipment and trailing cables.
- Synchronized lifting — The controller keeps body tilt within 5 mm over the full stroke; if the threshold is exceeded, lifting stops automatically.
- Support stands — After lifting, the body is transferred to adjustable stands, the columns are released and repair proceeds with no load on the drives.
- Utilities in place — Compressed air, power, earthing and lighting are routed along the pit and platforms with connection points at every work area.
- Built for the customer's series — Column spacing, stand height and station length are set from the drawings of the locomotives the depot maintains.
